Ubisoft announced that Riders Republic will celebrate its fifth anniversary with a free weekend taking place from October 22 to October 26, 2026, across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, allowing players to carry over all their progress.
The celebration goes beyond temporary free access, as the publisher confirmed that the massive extreme sports title will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 9. That release will arrive alongside verified status for Steam Deck and the addition of a brand-new offline single-player mode called Nomad, tailored for those wanting to explore the massive open world without a mandatory internet connection.
A full weekend of free extreme sports
Players hopping into the free trial across PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X|S will have access to the core game features during the promotional window. All career progression, unlocked cosmetic gear, earned points, and acquired equipment during the period will seamlessly carry over should players choose to purchase the full game on their digital storefronts.
To complement the community celebration, the fifth anniversary features special in-game events. Starting October 22, players can attend an exclusive virtual concert by DJ Henri PFR set within the mountain ranges. Commemorative crossover outfits inspired by famous Ubisoft franchises, including Assassin's Creed and Rayman, will also be unlockable for biking, snowboarding, skiing, and wingsuit runs.
The open world map seamlessly combines recreations of prominent United States national parks, such as Bryce Canyon, Yosemite Valley, Sequoia Park, Zion, Canyonlands, Mammoth Mountain, and Grand Teton, creating a massive playground full of vertical drops and technical trails.
Portable expansion and the offline Nomad mode
The upcoming December 9 launch on Nintendo Switch 2 brings the outdoor playground to updated portable hardware, allowing players to experience massive races on the go. Simultaneously, full Steam Deck verification will ensure optimized performance on handheld PC gaming systems, addressing one of the most frequent requests from Valve's user base.
Meanwhile, the new Nomad mode offers a relaxed solo alternative for all types of riders. This feature removes the crowded online multiplayer layer, letting players tackle stunt challenges, discover iconic national parks at their own pace, and roam trails completely offline without relying on active servers.
With this combined effort, Ubisoft aims to revitalize its extreme sports community, welcoming new participants ahead of its release on portable hardware and securing long-term support for its active community.
