Hello Games has released Forsaken, the fifth major update of 2026 for No Man's Sky, introducing a space horror atmosphere complete with biomechanical corvette parts and the ability to warp directly to visible stars in the sky.

The British studio led by Sean Murray continues expanding its procedural universe with a spooky theme tailored for Halloween. Following the release of the COSMOS update last month, which overhauled outer space and added customizable space stations, Forsaken shifts into a darker direction. The update introduces vessels of preserved organic matter lurking in the shadows of deep space, hidden within derelict hulks and infested space outposts.

These haunting mementos have drawn enigmatic traders from across the galaxy who are eager to collect samples. Experienced Travellers skilled in salvaging these scarce materials can summon forsaken traders on the fringes of deep-space outposts. In exchange for these organic relics, players can obtain a unique collection of sinister, biomechanical corvette modules.

Organic Ships and Grotesque Equipment

These construction parts allow players to revamp existing corvettes or build entirely new scarecraft from scratch using new structural pieces, eerie habs, and cockpits. The macabre cosmetic additions also extend to the explorer, including the grotesque larva tank helmet and the wriggling larva cannon multi-tool, purchasable with preserved grubs.

Alongside the horror theme, the update brings new gameplay loops for corvette pilots. Players can now take on the role of space couriers through dedicated corvette haulage missions, transporting crucial cargo packages across treacherous sectors of space.

Seamless Warping and Interface Tweaks

On the technical and exploration side, the standout feature of Forsaken is seamless warping. Explorers can now fly directly toward the stars they see in the sky and warp to them smoothly, fulfilling a core galactic travel fantasy without relying entirely on traditional galaxy map steps.

The expansion also introduces several lavish new corvette cockpits and key quality-of-life additions. These include a minimal HUD mode tailored for advanced Travellers seeking total immersion, as well as a radial weapon selector for quick mid-combat swaps.

With this release, Hello Games wraps up an exceptionally active year: Forsaken marks their fifth major update in 2026, following REMNANT, XENO ARENA, THE SWARM, and COSMOS. According to Sean Murray, the team is already deep in planning for what is coming in 2027.
