Arrowhead Game Studios is celebrating Liberty Day 2026 this October 26 in Helldivers 2 with in-game gifts, commemorative ship lobby decorations, and dedicated community activities across the galaxy.
This in-universe holiday for the cooperative shooter has now entered its third year of official festivities. In Super Earth lore, Liberty Day commemorates the foundation of Managed Democracy by the Democratic Council, rescuing humanity from chaotic times. In celebration of the in-universe year 2186, active Helldivers are receiving direct equipment rewards simply for reporting to duty and defending the galactic frontlines.
A classic service rifle and temporary ship decorations
The centerpiece gift for active duty troops is the AR-23L Liberator Legacy, a retro rifle modeled directly after the historic firearms issued throughout the First Galactic War. This weapon adds vintage aesthetics to modern loadouts and will be automatically delivered upon the conclusion of the Liberty Day celebrations at 23:59 CET on October 26, 2026. All Helldivers who have logged in and played the game since September 26, 2026, qualify to claim the rifle.
Alongside the complimentary rifle, High Command authorized holiday decorations aboard all Super Destroyers. For a 24-hour window throughout October 26, player vessels feature decorative banners, thematic rugs, and festive party supplies across the ship lobby to mark the occasion between orbital drop operations.
Beyond the console and PC client, Arrowhead revived several interactive text-based minigames on their official Discord server. Community members can cooperate in Minidivers by submitting emoji-based stratagem combinations to halt incoming enemy waves, look after new recruits via Adopt-a-SEAF, claim a digital enlistment oath through Oath of Enlistment, or trigger a synchronized salute in Raise the Flag.
Super Earth celebrations and unlocked merchandise
Super Earth worldbuilding continues through fictional holiday traditions, including a ceremonial orbital bombardment of the Moon utilizing over 15,000 megatons of ordnance, civic fireworks, and the Prosperity City parade broadcast live across every Super Destroyer fleet. High Command also distributed the Liberty Day Party Pack, a downloadable suite providing domestic recipes, party activities, and printable papercraft helmets for fans celebrating at home.
Physical merchandise rewards have also tied into in-game performance on the Super Merch Store. Players who reach Level 100 to earn the Hell Commander title before February 28, 2027, unlock the ability to purchase the Hell Commander Pin, while finishing 75 successful missions grants access to purchase the official Private Teddy Snuggles Plush.
Candidates looking to step onto the frontlines can also jump into Helldivers 2 through the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog with an active PlayStation Plus Extra membership on PlayStation 5, as well as purchasing standard digital editions on digital storefronts.
