Electronic Arts and DICE confirmed that Battlefield 6 is hosting a limited-time free trial on PlayStation and Steam from October 15 to 19, 2026, granting players full access to every multiplayer map and mode at no cost to celebrate Season 5: Siege of Vegas.

This special promotion arrives alongside the rollout of Game Update 2.1.1.0, bringing significant content additions and competitive gameplay adjustments to the warzone. Anyone jumping into the trial during this window can experience all warfare arenas across land, air, and sea without having to purchase the full game upfront.

Season 5 content and brand new battlegrounds

The fifth season shifts the conflict to two contrasting battlegrounds. The first is Vegas Strip, an urban map featuring neon-lit boulevards, fountains, casinos, and rooftop ziplines across hotel towers, blending wide vehicle sightlines with close-quarters infantry fighting through underground drainage systems.

On the other front, operators head into Area 51, a classified desert military outpost offering intense vehicular warfare with jets, tanks, and helicopters on the surface. Players can drop through impact craters into subterranean tunnel networks or bring down the central Air Traffic Control tower to alter the terrain, while Pax Armata deploys chemical weapons across the region.

In addition to these arenas, four new weapons arrive to diversify loadouts across classes: the Mk 24 assault rifle, the high-stopping-power RSPR personal defence weapon, the belt-fed Z84M light machine gun with a 100-round capacity, and the versatile ELR-40 bolt-action sniper rifle with dual sweet-spot ranges.

Rapid Royale debut and Dead Space crossover

Within the REDSEC ecosystem, this update marks the official launch of Ranked Battle Royale, graduating out of Battlefield Labs with new seasonal rewards and redesigned rank badges. Alongside it comes Rapid Royale, an aggressive and faster battle royale variant featuring lower player counts, high-tier loot drops, and an accelerated ring of fire.

The season also brings an unexpected Halloween crossover: the Battlefield 6 x Dead Space: Convergence limited-time event, running from October 20 to November 10. This 16-player PvE mode pits squads against waves of AI-controlled Marked Soldiers inside Area 51, wielding the iconic Pulse Rifle to stop the alien Marker's madness before triggering an extinction-level event.

All of this is backed by a new 100-tier Battle Pass, extensive vehicle balance passes, animation polish, enhanced Portal creation tools, and the optional Battlefield Pro subscription featuring persistent servers and progression boosts.
