Analogue has officially revealed the Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+, updating its flagship FPGA systems for Super Nintendo and Sega Mega Drive with native Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz wireless, and USB-C starting December 2026 for 219.99 dollars each.
The boutique retro hardware creator has refined its two celebrated 16-bit machines. Both systems preserve their core operating principle: neither relies on software emulation, instead housing an Altera Cyclone V FPGA chip engineered from scratch at a transistor level. This hardware accurately recreates original vintage architectures to run physical cartridges in 1080p high definition with zero input lag, region-free NTSC and PAL standard handling, multiple aspect ratios including 8:7, 4:3, and 1:1, alongside advanced hybrid scanline controls and HQ2x to HQ4x scaling.
Built-in Wireless Connectivity and Refined Hardware
The primary leap in these «Plus» revisions lies in controller connectivity and convenience. Both Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ integrate native antennas supporting Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz communication via a dedicated chassis pairing button and dual player LED indicators. This built-in tech connects directly to modern gamepads, 8BitDo controllers, and arcade sticks without requiring dongles. When plugging an original corded controller into the front ports, the system automatically assigns priority to the wired device over active wireless gamepads.
Power and auxiliary ports have also evolved to modern standards. The consoles switch to a USB-C power input bundled with a 30W worldwide GaN Power Delivery 3.0 adapter. Alongside it sits a new USB-A port designed specifically for streamlined Analogue DAC integration when connecting to CRT or PVM displays, as well as charging controllers, though it does not carry direct USB controller data or file transfers.
Cartridge Compatibility and Operating System Enhancements
The upgraded operating system now features hot swappable cartridge support, allowing players to safely quit a cartridge through the in-game menu and insert another title without cycling system power. Furthermore, users can now turn the console on or off remotely from player one by pressing start or turning on a paired wireless pad. The firmware also adds startup action configuration, custom menu typography, and in-game menu adjustments without disrupting gameplay.
Regarding software libraries, Super Nt+ is compatible with over 2,200 cartridges from Super NES and Super Famicom, offered in Classic, SF, and Black colorways. Meanwhile, Mega Sg+ supports more than 2,180 legacy games across Sega Genesis, Mega Drive, and Master System, packaging a Master System adapter, Sega CD spacer, and support for add-on adapters covering Game Gear, My Card, Mark III, SG-1000, and SC-3000 in USA, EU, and JP aesthetics.
Preorders open October 19, 2026 at 8:00 AM PDT via Analogue's website for 219.99 dollars, with deliveries scheduled for December 2026. Each unit ships with HDMI cables, cartridge cleaners, and USB-C power accessories, noting that neither unit contains built-in games nor openFPGA support.
